If it is in the Fullerton/Brea/Orange area like originally announced, I can make it.

I'd like to keep it fairly central in Brea/Fullerton/Orange, definitely no further south than the Lucille's at The District at Tustin Legacy (Jamboree/Barranca, old Tustin base).

I can likely make it, but it is the day after my birthday so I may be incapacitated.

I can't make the Burro Canyon shoot, but I could make this if it happens.

and Locosway, I could probably throw you into the back of the FJ and take you if you needed me to.

Calgunner steadyrock suggests The Auld Irisher in Orange w possible range time at Evans following the meet. Does this place have a small banquet/large party room? Thoughts?

Buca was also suggested- anyone know if this is avail?

Based on location and time, I'm in. I have a job starting at 3:45 in Long Beach.

...possible range time at Evans...

Can we "accidentally" leave some AW flowcharts and Sac PD letters on their counter to compliment thier sealed magwell AR's? :43:
Just kidding of course :)

Although I must admit for range time at an indoor range I would just go 15 minutes up the road to OC Indoor in Brea.

Too bad we couldn't bring a few pistol cal ARs w/ BBs ;)

Sounds like an event for the Pope room at Buca. I think it seats about 15, its round so eye contact can be made with everyone and its semi private for conversation. There is a Buca in Brea. If this works I can call and schedule it

wildhawker

I motion to proceed with Buca's Pope Room in Brea. If this is available I suggest we lock it in.

Out of curiosity, what will we be doing?

wildhawker
08-25-2009, 08:18 PM
Discussing 'state of the union' for outreach to date, new opportunities and venues and some other more global goals of Calguns.

We, as a community, have a choice- step up to the plate and challenge ourselves to create a gun-friendly California, or be relegated to the status of the many e-whiners and principled but inactive citizens who have come before us. I am certain that this tenacious group will choose the former. The time is now, folks- let's go make it happen.

I'll be there, but I'm unsure of what resources I can bring to the table outside of perhaps some time donations.

That, my friend, is invaluable. Time is a generous contribution and instrumental (indeed, critical) to the success and protection of RKBA- don't look past just a few minutes here and there.

My two cents:

The Auld Irisher has a big room in the back that will accommodate large groups (25+) without a problem. I consider the place to be my "home away from home". see my avatar.....:chris:

Never been to Buca.

My vote is for Auld Irisher. I just checked their menu and I definately down for meeting there. Their food washed down with a nice mug of Guinness, sounds awesome to me!

My fat belly can attest to the wholesome goodness of their food and beer selection.

I guess the question is if people want to go shoot at Evans afterwards. If we go to Buca's then thats a bit of a drive afterwards. If we go to the Auld Irisher, then its a block or two away. Either way it doesn't really matter to me, I won't step a foot in Evans again.

If you have contacts there let's confirm availability. Also, we're small in OC so far, will they allow the room for <10? Maybe we can get the word out and fill it up? :43:

I would like to make a motion as well. Let's all wear any gun-related attire we have... Calguns shirts, CRPA hats, etc etc. It might be a good sight to see the crazy right wing extremists on a night out like normal folks.

Ok I have a reservation set for Buca Di Peppo for 1pm Aug 30. If we decide on the Irisher then I will cancel this reservation.

pennys dad: I also talked to the Auld Irisher and the back room would be wide open at 1pm. The place is empty until @ 5pm on Sundays.
So I guess it just comes down to what everyone wants to go to? Italian or Irish?

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. ;)

As an aside, how private would the room at Buca be?

Is this an UOC meeting and I am confused with all the debate with Buca or Auld, where are we going?

:driving:

locosway

I don't believe there was any talk of UOC, however I'll be LUCC like usual.

And it's currently the Auld, since there's no age restrtictions before 10pm.

The only thing I remember is that Kestryll granted me a permanent get-out-of-ban card. :) That, and I am officially appointing myself as the grand-Calguns poobah of Laguna Beach.

(ducking)

I think we will be seeing some of these happen more often, if all stars get aligned. Good bunch of people, lively debate, and lots of homework :) Great meeting everyone!
