anyone have experience with the Taurus Raging Bull 500 magnum 2.5"? By experience I mean actually shot the gun or been around while being fired. I want an idea of general quality and how it shoots having such a short barrel.

I am looking for informed people to chime in with their experiences. I know it is not on the list. I know it has been discontinued. Any info on quality and shooting of the 2.5" would be appreciated.

I have the Smith w/ the 8 3/8 barrel, and imo all the .500 snubbies are a waste of money.

You want a big caliber and a short barrel? go for a raditional magnum wheelgun caliber, and even then you're wasting a hell of a lot of powder to no good effect.

Well, I bought it anyway. I guess I'll see how it shoots soon enough.

The gun is still in jail but I have to say it is huge. It is the biggest handgun I have ever held. Once my gun is out and my sampler's pack arrives I might have to record myself shooting it.

Make sure to buy jacketed bullets because there's a good chance you'll be wearing some lead on your face.

I had a 4" SW and it wasnt fun to shoot. Atleast not with powerful ammo. Lighter loads were ok, but that isnt the point of having a .500 magnum is it ?

I sold mine after a couple of months. I just didnt have as much fun with it as I did my 44 magnum in 4".

Good luck with yours. Waiting to hear your view on it.

I just bought a Raging Bull in .454Casull with the 6 1/2" barrel off gunbroker, it hasn't arrived yet. There's just something about a large caliber revolver...
