I placed my first order with Georgia arms last month on 7/16 for a box of their "Canned Heat", 500 rounds of .40 S&W 165g FMJ FN. At the time of the order, their site had extra notices that said the wait could be 12 to 16 weeks, and not to contact them before that time had elapsed.

I knew it would be a long wait, and placed the order not expecting the shipment until Nov sometime. Their delay seemed to stem from the availability of raw materials, and they couldn't accurately predict when the supplies for specific calibers would arrive.

I recieved an email today from UPS notifying me that the order is shipping, and I will recieve it next week. That's 5 weeks from when I placed the order! Needless to say, I'm surprised (and impressed) at the speed of the processing.

Maybe it's the availability of .40 S&W, maybe it's because demand is starting to drop, or maybe supplies are becoming more available. Whatever the reason, I'm happy that it'll be here in a week and I can stop scrounging WalMart for a box of round here-and-there.

PS - I'm not affiliated with Georgia Arms in any way, except as a first-time customer.

You could've bought some at Walmart for $15 less.

Just bring 84 of your friends with you.

I order 180 gr 40 S&W in late June and still haven't received. Got a note in response to my inquiry (since I did not receive a confirmation) and was told that it would ship in 3 weeks (that was as of last week). I'm pushing the anticipated limit.

I think you got lucky on the caliber you ordered from Georgia Arms. I ordered some 10mm from them in May and haven't seen it yet - that is 3 months ago.

For some reason the supply/demand situation on .40 caliber has been better than almost any other caliber. On Sunday I was in WalMart (Oceanside, CA) and they were typically out of every centerfire handgun caliber except .40. So even though I didn't need more .40, I bought a 100 round box of WWB for $28.00. But I would have preferred to find 9mm, .357 magnum or .45 ACP.

I've used them before and they like to say it will be longer then it is to ship, just feels good that way!

The Opanic has largely passed, and the ammo is coming back online and down in price.
