What would it look like to swap the tops on a Colt 1911 and a Sig 1911??

Well it looks like this,

They shoot like they were actually made for each other.

Two-tone to the bone!

I was told by the sales guy that Sig was not Mil Spec. and standard 1911 parts would not interchange ... I guess the guy was wrong.

Are you going to fire them?

You may like sigs and that's fine, but they butchered the lines of the 1911.

Wow, I'm surprised they fit together so well! 1911's aren't exactly like mil-spec AR's! They look great though.

Lets agree to disagree... :D

I actually tried that with a sig and a kimber, and a dan wesson, and a colt, and i've never had one slide from a gun I own fit smoothly on the frame of another gun I own.

Sig must have had a Colt to copy for quite a while.

Not only did they swap fine, they fired flawlessly while hitting the steel at
100yds and I noticed no wear other than what is considered normal. Scary.

Before the Franken-surgery.........The SIG 1911 is an excellent firearm, it
has its place with the other SIGs for being reliable , IMO.

As for them ruining the lines.......yep, I think so too. But, it's a SIG. :p

Interesting--I used to hate 2 tone pistols, but these 2 are such great shooters they've changed my mind.

I must admit it would have never occurred to me to mix and match as you've done. Do they match up well enough that you'd shoot them?
