Ammo exchange?????

something just hit me.. why dont we have an ammo exchange? i know that none of us are made of money that we can just buy ammo for it to sit but from time to time wal mart might have something that we may not need but someone on here could definatly use. 22 for instance has been in abundance here but i havent seen 45 in a long time.( like everyone else, i know.) why not have an exchange section? i know we have a classifieds section but usually its just inflated prices that we are stuck paying- i know if i saw that a fellow calgunner had posted that he wanted the 4 boxes of 357 sig that have been at the wal mart by my house for months i would pick them up for him. even with shipping and tax its still cheaper then anywhere else. just a thought. from my limited experience on the board ive found that calgunners are a good bunch and if someone says they what something and you score it for them youre 99.9% guarenteed not to get burned. just an idea. an exchange section along with the classifieds.

Sounds like all you have to do is create a Ammo Exchange thread and ask for it to be a sticky. But that is what the Ammo sale section is already.:confused:

even if there is an exchange section, it will very quickly turn into just like ammo section now, where inflated prices will exist.

only want to combat this is to have a receipt scan of the ammo for trade to show proof of true cost to make fair exchange possible.

thread title- "Need 45. Have 9,40,22lr". you have 45? you reply. or the wal mart by you has 9 and someone has a posting as "9 Needed- have 40". you reply. its like what we have only instead of for sale sections have a trade only or trade/wanted section only. no sales. i wont buy more 9 but id gladly trade 22 for it. basicly its kind of like what we have- kind of. just only for trades. like i go to wal mart and buy 12 boxes of 40, damage/mark the box (pink paint dot?), trade with another calgunner who cant find any 40. i thought it would be a good idea. and it would help us calgunners take care of eachother without getting raped. and yes, i know, there are "rapers" among us.

Sounds like a good idea to me - with certain ammo calibers/type still hard to find I would trade. Examples-
* I have many bricks of high velocity .22 for my GSG-5 but very little standard velocity for my 1940 S&W target revolver
* My EMP prefers Speer GD 9mm -- I bought a bunch of Federal HST that I wanted to try but it turns my gun into a jam-o-matic so I need to trade that
* I have some Blazer .45 ACP but my new carbine has high end tastes
* maybe people would trade some practice ammo/FMJ for SD/JHP ammo or vice versa
