Keep in mind that most surplus 7.62x39 is going to be corrosive primed. And since most 7.62x39 is going to be fired out of a semi-auto, and semi-auto's are kind of a pain to clean for corrosive ammo, you might be better off buying new production commercial 7.62x39.
The goood news is that new production commercial 7.62x39 is cheaper than surplus 7.62x39 for some reason.
And even better news is that you can have new production commercial 7.62x39 ammo delivered right to your door for less than most shops in California sell it for.
J&G Sales in Arizona is running a sale on soft point ammo right now. Something like $99.95 per 1000 rounds. Since they are close to California, shipping charges aren't too bad.
Sportman's Guide also has good deals on this caliber and, if you use one of the online coupons available all over the net, their shipping isn't too bad either.
