G19 and G23...

9mm is more cost effective than the .40, however the .40 can be converted to .357sig or 9mm with a barrel and mags.

I have a G20 and I'm going to reload eventually, so the .40 makes sense for that.

I guess I'm looking for a cheap/fun gun to shoot and one that I can CC easily.

I haven't shot the 23 yet. I did put 100 rounds through a 19 the other day and I fell in love.

Well if you were in sac I would let you try mine out,I would say go rent one and then go from there.

Man, stuff like this kinda sucks. I've got a Beretta 96 and never shoot it because its a 40cal, and I hate buying ammo for it for some reason. Sure I could convert it to 9, but I've had the thing for almost 5 years and haven't done **** with it. How much will a conversion barrel cost you? Me? I'm a cheap bastard and stick with 9mm.

$120 before tax and shipping from LWD.

Turners has a G23 on sale for $539 right now... I've seen the G19 for $595 but I could probably get it a little cheaper.

See, so right there you could get the G23, and a barrel for not too much more than the G19.

I love shooting my 10mm, but I think I'll likely go with the 9mm for cost of shooting.

True...if you've got one on the line...I haven't seen any used Glocks up this way in the sub $500 zone in a while though.

I think I have to go with the G19.. :D

I still have to get a G17 or 19. Someday even I will own a Glock...

I do recommend 23C. This way beside having all conversion options, you have a choice of ported/non-ported use. As for the caliber, 40 is better because recoil of the cheap ammo you'd train with is the same as with SD/HD ammo, unlike 9mm.

Nah, I want people to buy guns to find out in the end that they can't find ammo.

Well, my G20 is what I grab when I think there's a need to use it. The 19 would be more of a fun gun and eventually a CC gun. I'd also use it to train my wife and other family members to shoot.

G26 or G27 for better CCW gun. Go get your Glock 9; more fotays for me!!!

As hard as 9mm ammo is to get right now, it's a hell of a lot easier (and cheaper!) to find than .40 in my experience. I own a G29 and think it would be a waste to buy a G23 when you can simply swap the barrel on your G20 and run .40 ammo if you like. I chose the G19 because it is very cheap to shoot, and I like how it has very little recoil. Use the G19 when you want to plink for a long range day for not too much money and use your G20 when you really want to have fun! However, I trust my life with my G19 and HST's which is why I carry it daily. Buy the Lone Wolf barrel like I did and it will be like having three guns for the price of two.

Get 23 and if you wanna plink all day long for even cheaper than 9mm get Advantage Arms .22 conversion.

G26 or G27 for better CCW gun

If you really have issues concealing a gun, then yes the 26 or 27 might be better. But if you have the right holster (or the help of winter clothing) then it's quite easy to conceal a G19 (or G23). For me, having the extra grip, slightly longer barrel, and more ammo capacity makes the G19 a better concealed carry gun for me.

I carried a G27 for a while and couldn't get used to the grip (when practicing my draw). I could have added the Pierce grips but then I just figured I might as well carry the G19 with 16 rounds!

Glock 23 for sure. Have shot 19 and 23, very little difference. The mid size 19/23 package is very nice. Relatively good concealability (not as good as 26/27 but better grip) and good round count. My question would be Glock 23 or the Glock mid size 10mm.

I have a G20, so a G29 isn't really interesting to me. It's too small for my large hands, ammo is expensive and hard to find, and I can't see having fun plinking with it.

Since I can always drop a .40 barrel into my G20 I think I'd go with the G19 simply because I've shot it a lot already and really like it. In fact, it's all I can think about lately.

I never considered the 19c, anyone shot a 19c. Is there a big difference in recoil? What about muzzle flash?

concealed carry? in california? you must be dreaming. Get the 19, in any kind of SHTF situation, 9mm will be alot easier to scavenge than 40 SW.

Yes, I may be moving to a CCW friendly county soon, and even without moving I have the opportunity to legally CC often.

really? are you a store owner? Its still hard to get a CCW even in CCW friendly counties. The percentage if pretty low.

I wouldn't go compensated with 9mm - very low recoil anyway. There is more sense to compensate .40 or 10mm.

The 19c has a way of directing a blinding flash upwards when shooting at night:)

The "C" series may not be the best choice if you intend to use this for CCW.
People who own compensated Glocks report that blinding is not an issue.

After watching some youtube videos I decided I didn't like all the flash.

Go 23 with the Wolf 9mm barrel. I think you will prefer the 40 cal, but can save money on shooting with the 9.

Depends on how much you want to spend loco. If you don't mind getting the g23 with a 9mm barrel with some 9mm mags then go for it. I think you are probably looking at an extra $200 give or take some. But if you are going to buy new it is looking at $800 when it's said it done.

G23 on sale = $539 + tax and dros= Around $600
Barrel + 2 mags= $120 + $50+ tax and shipping? =$170?

Total $770

Are you really going to shoot the .40cal alot? IDK I would go G23 and buy a .40cal barrel for the G20 so it's a common caliber for you. Unless you have a 9mm already. If you do and plan to shoot the glock often then I would get the 9mm barrel package because it would be cheaper to shoot. I'm a person that likes to have guns in similar calibers.

Yeah, I just put another 200 rounds through my G20 and it's no different from the .40 with the lite loads I'm using.

The 19 will give me 9mm out of the box, which is cheaper to shoot. My unemployment is ending soon and I'm going back to school. I don't know if I'll be able to keep my truck since I'm still paying on it. So, I need to fix the Mustang up and get it running right and after that I want to get my G19. The 23 would just cost too much right now after getting the barrels and mags.
