For those of us that would like one of our CCW permits (other than California) recognized in Colorado, here is an on-line petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/CoPermit/petition.html)to their A.G.

There will be a legal case filed soon to address this issue. I cannot go into extreme detail for obvious reasons.

The petition is asking for an actual non-resident permit. I signed but also put in comments that accepting non-resident reciprocal permits would also solve the issue, AFAIK they accept FL and UT, which anyone can get.
WV and KS recently dropped that requirement themselves.

Colorado stopped allowing non-resident UT & FL licensees to CCW. That's why I won't spend tourist dollars there.

If they change the law to allow non-res permits then CO will be good to go again.

I added a comment that I spend a lot of time in Utah near the Colorado border, but won't cross it to spend money any more. It didn't stop the governor signing that law into effect when I told him that would happen, wonder if the A.G. will be more concerned.

There is no way a California resident can carry in Colorado since Colorado doesn't recognize Ca CCW permits and they won't honor non resident CCW permits.
This is a similar situation in other states as well.
But I'm sure there will be blended 2nd, 9th and 14 amendment lawsuits on this issue.

Does this involve CO specifically?

Here is a likely preview if you missed it first time around:

May not initially help CA residents because Thune only effected those who held permits in their home states.

No. The Thune Amendment would have allowed me to use my non-resident Utah CCW license to carry in all states EXCEPT my home state.

That's what the petition is trying to address

Fixed it for you

I think so too.

FYI about carrying in Colorodo. It is legal to carry a loaded firearm in your car as long as it is not on your person. Colorodo defines concealed as on your person and outside of vehicle.
