Does anyone have a first hand recommendation for a NV CCW instructor out of Reno?

Thanks in advance.

Where are you located in Commiefornia? I know of one here in Norcal.

As you already know, the non-resident NV CCW is good for 3 years and you have to renew in the county (i.e. Washoe, Clark, Nye, etc.) you got it in. NV residents can renew wherever NV county they wish.

Contact Calgun user by the name of "Colonel Klink", maybe he can tell you more.

I got mine through the folks that Col.Klink is always talking about.

They work out of Reno.
You take a class in town then go out to the desert and shoot your qualifying rounds.
Then they bring out the UZI!

Since the range is now open, maybe the do the class there?

Anyway, I enjoyed it, learned something from it and got my permit in good order.

I'd like to get mines within the next few months. Its just a matter of being able to stay until Monday to submit paperworks.

It's just the opposite. Nevada residents must obtain the permit in their county of residence. Nonresidents can get it from any county. Also, the CCW class must be taken in Nevada. It cannot be taken out of state.

Excuse me if I am incorrect, but I think he means that there is person who is local who can teach the class in Nevada.

Very possible. I didn't consider the possibility.

well if you want to do the course in NV and then do all your paperwork you can go to:

http://www.avicasino.com/index.htm

I dont think it shows it on the AVI website but I emailed them before and they have a CCW course plus room accomodation for a cheap price. I think it is like under 200 bucks total.

Or you can go to:

Give Ken Walls a call.
He works at Sportsmans Warehouse in Reno.
3306 Kietzke ln.
1-775-828-1500, Great guy.
CCW is good for 3 years, the Sheriff's office is
great and all nice folk's.
The class is about $65.00 or so
and the Sheriff dept. charges about $110.00
Go early in the morning on a weekday and you can have it all done that day.
I received my CCW in about three week's http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When I saw your post, I got interested so I did some research using google.
This is what I found. (It appears AVI Resort & Casino doesn't offer it anymore.)
