When I first got into firearms, I was obsessed with 1911's and would spend most of my time in the pistol forums on here and THR. I eventually got turned on to rifles. At that point I had two pistols and a shotgun... and was close to making another 1911 purchase! Since, I've picked up a few rifles of different variety and I haven't looked back.. or looked any pistol forum since!

Just wanted to put this poll up to see if anyone is stuck on pistols w/o owning any rifles.

I own some of everything. Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Black Powder. The collection needs to be diverse. It's almost time for a new safe though.

I too started with pistols. It was only a matter of time before I got infected with the Black Rifle Disease. There is no know cure, it can only be treated with lots of ammo and range time.

I've owned way more rifles than handguns, and that was because of the price and that I enjoy shooting rifles more.

Now I have two handguns and no rifles. I've been wanting to build a carbine (AR-15) but that damn Mosin keeps calling me.

You have to at least own one of everything. :) Including black power stuff.

I own a .357, .44 mag, 45 colt pistols. So, it only made sense that I get lever rifles in the same calibers! hahahahahaha

I started with rifles. It was very easy for me, so I got into handguns. It was a good challenge for me to switch. I love shooting all though!

The opposite was true for me. I loved rifles much more then handguns, but now I am much more into handguns and IPSC.

I started out at 20 getting really into rifle shooting. When I turned 21 and bought my P226, I started to really enjoy the unique challenge of pistol shooting, so I started saving up and buying more.

Next I have to get into shotgun shooting...

I'm really more of a hand gun guy and have a modest little collection of them. Also the only long gun I have at the moment is chambered in a hand gun round.

Then again, I think my next purchase will most likely be an AR, but I might get it in a 9mm. LOL

Isn't that like asking if a carpenter owns a hammer and a saw?

I have a few centerfire rifles and pistols and a few of each in rimfires . I actually really enjoy shooting rifle calibers in the contender pistol Platform , I have a few pistol barrels that will shoot right along side a good rifle for accuracy .

I've bought and sold way more rifles than pistols. My schedule doesn't allow me to shoot rifles as much as pistols, so the pistols get used alot more. But for some reason I've got twice as many rifles as pistols....

Difference guns for difference situations and interested.

I'm curious why you specified centerfire rifles? Is it for the longer distance than rimfire rifles? It is a very different shooting experience when you are hitting at 600 yards with a rifle than say 25 yards with a pistol.

I think ALOT of people have 22's. I know my first firearm and alot of my buddies first firearms were 22's.

Perhaps. But I've met many shooters who's only owned rifles and don't have any pistols (or have never even fired any pistols). It seems (based on my own observation) that rifle ownership is far more common than pistol ownership.

Nice pic. Although the FG looks a little too far up front for my short arms. :)

Yeah I've actually been meaning to look and see if PRI has a longer rail I could use there. I can reach it but I'm 6'2", and it is still a stretch.

I've got semi-auto handguns, revolvers, semi-auto rifles, rimfire rifles, lever-action rifles, shotguns, black powder.....

The list goes on.

Why anyone would limit themselves, I have no idea.

My next project: 7.62x39 AR Pistol. Already got the lower....

Pistols and a shotgun. :) I was building an AR though but decided to discontinue the build and revisit the project later. So I quasi owned a centerfire rifle along with the pistols?
