Will it fit a scoped Rem 700 (Think, sps tactical with Bushnell 3200) and a 16" AR?

or should I just buy 2 1720's?

Normally, I'd just take some measurements and go from there, but since I don't have a scoped 700 yet, I can't measure the combined size

If you decide to get two cases, you could just get a 1700 for the 16"-Barreled AR, and I think the 700 with a scope would fit in a 1720 just fine.

wow, thats actually a pretty good suggestion on the 1700 for the AR... I hadn't thought about that... I was so focused on the 1720 that I didn't even see that one.

thanks for the heads up!

What's the barrel length on the 700? I had a 1720 that i kept my Remington 870 shotgun in. The thing barely fit with the factory stock and 21" barrel and mag extension.

Can't remember the overall length, but it was close. If you want a better fit, do like One Shot, One Dropped said and get the 1700 for the AR and step up to a 1750 for the Remington 700.

My 2 cents anyway.

EDIT: Here's a Remington 700 specific case that's already cut out and ready for the scoped rifle. Could work...

I have a ... 1750 (I think). That's the biggest one of the 1700 series.

Mine can fit a scoped Remington 700 with a 26" barrel, AND a 20" AR with permanent carrying handle and A2 stock. There's no room for the foam, mind you, but the foam on top and bottom keep them wedged in pretty tightly.

The overall length on the 700 is 40" according to Remington so I guess that I'd have to go with the 1750.... unless I just want 1" of padding on each end...

i got the 1750 and with the way i have it positioned.... i would not think of even fitting an AR in there.... maybe i left too much foam on the sides? although i know i can fit 2 1911's with 6 magazines with the space i have left in the case....
