Now would be a good time to ask about all "grey area" firearms. Don't forget to tape any answers and have them transcribed. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Why would he want to be there?
He's probably as anti-gun as his boss Bill Lockyer. (http://caag.state.ca.us/firearms/2amend.htm)
I'm sure he'd be given a hard time and likely a bunch of folks there who'd like to kick his *****.

I've spoken with Randy Rossi before on the phone. He didn't appear to be nor come across like a typical anti-gun bureaucrat. He didn't pass the laws he's sworn to uphold. And I'm sure his life would be a lot easier if CA's gun laws were not so extreme.

Talking out your *** about someone you know nothing about? I've met and spoken with Mr. Rossi. I dare say most people would be really surprised about his personal views, and what he has tried to PREVENT happening in his position.

I've got to agree with that. I hate unfounded assumptions as much as I do speculative ponderings.

Please expound on that a little if you could, please.
Sounds interesting to me - especially the bolded "PREVENT" part.

Sorry fella’s, but I don’t trust any government bureaucrats.
Here’s an interesting read on a meeting Mr. Rossi was a guest at a few years ago in Ventura County:
The Professional Face of Evil (http://www.keepandbeararms.com/newsarchives/XcNewsPlus.asp?cmd=view&articleid=354)

You’re right, I don’t know Mr. Rossi and he’s probably a nice guy and all that however, I can only suspect he’s a lackey for Bill Lockyer or he’d be out of a job. Besides, it appears to me he actively supports anti-gun legislation. Check these out and see who’s name pops up.
Lockyer Wants Handgun Ammunition Branded (http://www.galleryofguns.com/shootingtimes/Articles/DisplayArticles.asp?ID=6168)

Shumer-Backdoor Gun Registry (http://www.gunowners.org/op0255.htm)

And lets not forget this. After all, these are his people.

I second that. Inquiring minds want to know.

Yep. I bet lots of Jews in the late 30' and early 40's wanted to hear Himler speak. Great opportunity. Besides, Himler was only doing his job...

I've also spoken with Mr. Rossi on the phone about gun-related issues and my impression of him is just the opposite of yours. He strikes me as someone who is trying in good faith to follow the law while keeping enforcement fair for regular people.

Advice: DON'T go there expecting to heckle Mr. Rossi or criticize him for doing his job, which is enforcing the law that the Legislature establishes. If you have a complaint, feel free to vent your anger to your elected representative, which Mr. Rossi is not.

What will it take for some of you people to wakeup and realize these folks are not our friends?

Here’s a jewel I pulled off Jim March’s website:

AG/DOJ Follies: Reply to my DOJ PRAR Denial Letter (http://www.ninehundred.com/~equalccw/dojfollies.html)

He enforces the law alright and apparently circumvents it when its to their advantage.

And, don’t worry I’m not going to be there.

Any news on the meeting ? I would like to stop by after work if this is indeed going to happen.

So did anyone attend this meeting? Noted points of interest? Thoughts / rants?

I wanted to attend, but family obligations prevented that.

It is true that Mr. Rossi does not legislate. However, he as the head of the firearms division, is responsible for writing the regulations of firearms, etc. I can think of several unfavorable regulations during his tenure.

The nice germans guarding Dachau were just doing their job too. It is the same thing. Oppression of human rights.
