I'm curious - I have a number of AR-15 .223 and AK-47 7.62 mags (pre-2000). Could I legallyrepair one or the other with parts from the C Products 7.62x39 AR-15 mags? Is one rebuild more legitimate than the other?

You can LEGALLY change the caliber of your magazines all you want.
The ONLY requirement is that the magazine still function in the firearm it was originally intended for.
In other words, you can legally change a 30 round .223/5.56mm AR15/M16 magazine to work with either 6.5 Grendel or 6.8 SPC (or any other caliber you want) as long as it still functions in an AR15 type rifle.

...waiting for clarification on this... Not sure about that. Modifying is totally different than manufacturing. BUT, I've been wrong before!
