I am planning to buy my first shotgun soon and was wondering if there were any ranges in OC that allow shotguns? The range I go to(On Target in Laguna Niguel) does not. I figured if I buy a shotgun, I better get use to it with lots of practice http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif..

I'm surprised On-Target doesn't allow shotguns, I've seen them in there before though it's been a while.

almost every range ive been to allows shotguns as long as you dont use slugs.

You know, come to think about it, I remember hearing shotguns at the range. I called On-Target to inquire, maybe I'll just ask the next time I go in... Maybe members get a special perk http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

On Target as well as most indoor ranges allow shotguns.
I've brought my shotgun to shoot at On Target before, but shooting at paper targets with a shotgun that blows a huge hole in your target gets pretty old quite fast.
Get a shotgun, if you get a defensive shotgun buy an extra long barrel 26" - 30" and use your shotgun at the clay range. Busting clays is much more fun than shooting paper.

I just went to Prado's last Friday for the first time. I tried shoot trap. At first I hated it because I wasn't hitting anything but when I started to hit... it felt GREAT.
We've not put the HD shotgun thing on hold as we are looking for trap/skeet guns.
