Mission Viejo, California. Davis and Associates (http://www.calgunlawyers.com/), a leading firearms rights law firm based in Orange County, California announced the release of the premiere grassroots tool for the iPhone. The iPhone application, simply called "Gun Rights (http://www.gunrightsapp.com/)" is an easy to use application that brings the public up to date and behind the scenes on the fight to protect the right to keep and bear arms. "I wanted a one-stop application that provides the public with everything they need or want to know about the gun rights movement," said Gun Rights (http://www.gunrightsapp.com/) developer and firearms attorney Jason Davis. "People want quick and easy access to relevant Gun Rights (http://www.gunrightsapp.com/) news as well as the details of cases that affect us all."

Freedom isn't free, but the Gun Rights (http://www.gunrightsapp.com/) iPhone application is. The Gun Rights (http://www.gunrightsapp.com/) application provides instant access to the actual audio of the oral arguments and opinions on the most important gun rights cases. Users can post questions relating to firearms directly from their iPhone and get answers in the community forum called "The Wall." Most importantly, never miss an important issue with the News section that sends the most important and timely news articles relating to the Second Amendment directly to your iPhone.

The Gun Rights (http://www.gunrightsapp.com/) application does not stop there. The Gun Rights (http://www.gunrightsapp.com/) application access to Gun Show calendars in your area, entertaining and informative videos relating to your rights, as well as links to gun rights attorneys should you need one.

I think my Blackberry already does something similar...

You see, I joined the NRA and they send me emails that cause my phone to beep at 1,2,3,4am almost every day...gotta love it. Guess I don't need an iPhone

Extend this app so that it can display the firearm laws for any given state, especially as related to CCW, and make it so I can do this without network access, and I might just have to buy an iPhone.

What I really want is an app that gives me a map of legal carry areas. Something with a gps function so that I can show anybody who says I am in a no-carry area that they are wrong.

Cool in theory but it seems buggy on my phone. It keeps playing the heller oral arguments over and over again. (?)

That's not a bug - it's a feature! ;D

Jason will be adding quite a bit more content very soon.

I've been privileged to see this come to fruition, and I'm very impressed!

GPS and other radio-based triangulation can have errors esp when multiple satellites are close to horizon or vertical.

Make sure the lat/long indicates you're actually on the spot corresponding to what the map says it is. Also, the maps can have errors: what you think you're standing on is not where it is.

Just one example:
http://www.mapping-tools.com/info/pushpins/gps_accuracy.shtml

Errors on consumer GPS devices at certain times can be up to 100 yds.

;) Hopefully that will be their mugshots as they're rendered incapable of further predations.

Taking the steps to get a GPS system programmed with GFDSZs etc. it would be difficult for the DA to argue that you "reasonably should know" that you were 5 ft. within the zone.

I hate to hang a case on "reasonably should know".

I'd rather have a clear white line behind which I can safely stand.

There is no clear white line. One more reason the law may go away. BTW: I have no idea how I added a D to GFSZ

That is actually not a terrible idea - though there are issues surrounding liability, fudge factor, GPS accuracy, and reliance that have to be looked into before we even get to the "does Jason wanna open that can of worms." :P

Thanks for the app. If there was a suggestion forum I would suggest changing the app so the audio doesn't always start

Autostart on the audio being fixed, will eventually be 5 second commercial, but looking into turning it off completely for now. (Gotta pay the bills.) But send any recommendations through the feedback form under the more tab. I will definately consider all suggestions. And include your calgun name so I know who to thank!
