When looking for a new rifle I found myself running down to the Stockade several times a week trying to find one that I liked. I finally did, but I wanted the left hand version. So I asked if they would order the left handed one and they took my information. I never got a call back so I called them and I was told that they are not ordering any firearms for customers.

Well, that really ticked me off.

So, I found galleryofguns.com via this forum and a local shop called Walker '47 in Hobby City. The guy there is awesome (sole owner), and it turned out I knew some of his SASS shooting buddies (didn't know until after the purchase). Well, he doesn't have much of a stock, mostly SASS/Cowboy stuff. So I asked if he could order me a the rifle I wanted, and his supplier was out of stock but they would put a inventory alert on it for me. I didn't know how long that would take so I asked him to order me a G20. He called, got a price, and told me $650. I said that was $10 more than the Stockade when he asked, so he took the price down to $620 which is something the Stockade would never do.

I put down some money (not nearly enough), and in two days he had the gun in the store. I went down, gave him some more money and checked it out. After doing some paperwork he said his computer wasn't working and the tech was coming out. So I asked if he wanted me to check it out real quick since I've been in the computer business for 6 years. He said sure, and it turned out to be something simple which I fixed in 30 seconds. He was pretty happy, and I went on my way.

When it came time to pickup my G20 and pay the remainder of the balance he again took off another $20 and we chatted a bit.

Again, can't say enough how much I like supporting local business. This guy is awesome and can give you answers to your questions in minutes, not days.

Andy (owner of Walker '47) is a good guy and he's one of the best kept secrets in Orange County. I hope more people find out about him and patronize him.

Yes, he is a great guy. If you really want to see him and his services shine go in there for some black powder and single action related stuff, holy cow he is an absolute boat load of information on that one. Definitely one of the good guys. Glad he makes a point to take the time off but I sure wish he was open on Sundays.

That is why I never buy guns on a Thursday at Turner's. It will end up on a Sunday pick up and I am usually in Turner's after work during the week buying whatever it is.

We all know that if being closed Sun-Mon is the biggest gripe we can come up with at Walker '47 then we are happy campers for sure.
