View Full Version : My dist's Assembly Member's take on 357

I knew it was right to vote for this guy..

Dear Mr. ......

Thank you for contacting my office with your opposition to Senate Bill 357. I appreciate hearing from you and agree with your position.

SB 357 would require all handgun ammunition to have serial numbers in order to assist investigators when conducting a criminal investigation. This legislation would also make it a crime to bring ammunition purchased in another state into California. The fact is that there is no evidence that has shown that bullet serialization would in any way reduce the criminal misuse of firearms. Assuming that a manufacturer could somehow comply with the requirements of the proposal, the potential impact on municipal budgets that would result from the necessarily dramatic increase in the cost of ammunition for law enforcement agencies makes this legislation too burdensome.

As a result, I will oppose this bill should it come before me in the Assembly.

As always, it is an honor to represent you in the State Assembly. If you should have further questions, please feel free to contact my office at (909) 790-4196 or email me at assemblymember.bogh@assembly.ca.gov.
