This is a super hard to find all original, unaltered Marlin Mountie 39A, .22 short, long and long rifle, serial # L 79XX, this puts it at 1954. This is the very first year for the Mountie even though it is not labeled as a Mountie, most Marlin aficionados still call it a Mountie, the rounded lever and straight stock make this the "Pre Mountie, Mountie" for more info visit http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/index.php
This is the first year for the Micro Groove barrel, this rifle does not have the cross bolt safety. Rifle has some miner dings in the beautiful stock and some wear marks in the bluing on the hammer and lever as a 55 year old rifle would, perfect bore.

Lovely rifle. I have one and it's my favorite. You forgot to mention the very important fact that this is a C&R rifle and can be sold without paperwork.

Have a 54 Marlin 336 that would go nice with. Curious roughly or exactly if you feel like it, how many rounds of LR will that tube mag hold?

Anyone, what is the last year for C&R status?
