DAMN!!! $429!!!

Glad I got mine for 259 a while back.yup, $429. But J&G Sales got a new batch of them in for $389, so $40 extra and not having to deal with shipping to a local FFL and paying transfer fees evens it out some.

$259 are you out of your mind.:)Yup, they went for $259 for a long time and then have been creeping upward on successive shipments.

I'd rather get a brand new Glock 17 for $398.20 through GSSF.

AIM surplus had them for $259.00, hard to believe huh? Between shipping, hand pick fee, DROS, and FFL fees, I got two of them for $320.00 each, out the door.

I paid $399 on sale for mine back at the end of 2006. It was a PW Arms import. Then there was the super sale where Turners had them for $299 and everybody was getting one. I even talked a guy into work into buying one and he still thanks me every now and then.

The J&G price makes me think that the new going rate is going to be in the $400 range.

Yup. I remember getting one at that price from a Calguns group buy. That surely was money well worth it.

I have a "real" P225,lol. Does anyone have an actual P225 and not a P6? They seem fairly uncommon in this state. I'd love one in the nickel finish.

BTW. What SIG has the sime bbl length like the 225 but in a double stack? I like the 225 but for a little more i wanted higher cap.

I had a black one until it was stolen in 2003.

I think I paid $459 from River City in Sac. around 2001 after seeing an ad in the paper for one. Loved it. That's why I bought a P6 last year.

That sucks, I've though of adding a P6 to the collection as well but I can't justify the expense really. I actually prefer the P239 in 9mm but not by much.

I paid $300 in 2001 for a used P225 thru a PPT.

As mentioned previously, P228.

Here's an interesting thing, the SP2009/2022 also has the same barrel length. However, the frame is bigger on the back end and the slide is longer. I guess it was originally designed to accommodate 40 S&W round and was then scaled down to take the 9mm.

I hear ya. I walked in on Friday morning on a whim not even knowing I was going to buy a gun. I dont' know a single thing about Sig but I held the "P225" in the counter and it felt great in my hands. So I looked it over and thought, why the hell not?

I bought it and came home and researched what I just did. Turns out I paid P225 prices for a P6. Lesson well learned. Research before I buy....

I'm reviving this thread 'cause Turner's has P225's (marked P225), yes Swiss marked (Montage Suisse - translated into English - Swiss Assembly) P225's, NOT P6's for $399 this week. I just picked one and put my money down - hand selected by a great salesman and myself. Some come with night sights and the frames are in great shape unlike the two P6's I picked up last year (one from Turner's, another Hand Select from J&G Sales). The slides are in very good to excellent shape.

Cheers!

Looks like this one:

That is nice!

Unfortunately I just bought a Swiss marked P228 and am all out of funds. :(

The ad actually says these are German. Are you sure you didn't bump into one of the oddball specimen? Are all the P6/P225s Swiss marked where you bought yours?

They're all marked P225, Montage Suisse

Where'd you find the Swiss marked P228? Sounds very nice as well!

Wow nice find beemaze! That definetely is not your everday run of the mill P225. And at the price of the P6, that's a good deal for something that might have a little more of a collectors value. I bet those don't last long once people find out about them.

I checked them out as well, they are Swiss assembled, parts are German made. The one I checked out didn't really have any holster wear, it was in fantastic shape, even the barrel and rifleing were really clean. I would have grabbed her but I just bought a CZ P-01 (and a S&W 629-1, and a S&W m36, and a Super Blackhawk, etc...).:)

The top grade sold out yesterday within 2 hours of posting. The middle grade sold out early this morning.

I ordered the middle grade because I couldn't get home yesterday in time before they all sold out. :(

I would love to have a Swiss P225 to go with this one. Trade you my 4/79 German P6 with new trigger return spring, new sights (bar-dot), and refinished slide? :D

Or maybe I'll go see what's left tomorrow and maybe put one on lay away...

Yes, it's deficit spending, but I figure it's only right that I follow our glorious federal, state, county, and city government.

Gotta love TopGun, they have all kinds of stuff nobody else has and at good prices, plus killer shipping fee. Looks like I missed the boat on the P228. I'm sure a few will trickle over in Turner's direction soon.

As for the P225, Turner's should have some left. I saw these Monday, and they had the same number for sale today. I just kinda waited to see what would happen with the price and jumped on it today.

I already have enough P6's, but thanks for the offer ;)

nope, like mid-2008.

ke6guj is right: turners in chino had them for $220.00 at one point on sale and like a idiot I didn't get one, I was there to get my M&P 45 so I didn't have the money to get both and the one a month thing kinda fuc:eek:ed me up so I lost. But I did get my P6 finally out of 10 jail today from Ade's. It cost me a little more then it would have if I would have got it back then but $385.00 total isn't all that bad.
