Hey guys, im thinking about picking up a Ruger 10/22, and upgrade the barrel to a fluted heavy .920 barrel and a Houge stock. My question is, are all of the 10/22LR the same when it comes to swpping the barrel and stock? Walmart has the 10/22 for super cheap for $166.43

I can get the stock from Cabellas for like $60 something bucks and the barrel for around $130 or so. I can have a very accurate plinker for less then $400.

The barrel manufacture says .5" at 50 yards, which got me interested.

Hmm, well shiat. I have never bought a firearm from Walmart before, i just happen to be searching the net for prices on diffrent models of the 10/22 and WalMart came up as the cheapest. I guess its back to my local gun shop to get a price. Thanks Ted.

Check out Big 5 Sporting Goods. They have sales on 10/22 quite often.

If you want Houge stock, it's on sale on http://www.midwayusa.com this week for $39, or you can get a VERY nice Fajen stock for $129. They also have fluted blue A&B barrels supposedly manufactured by Green Mountain for $79.

Gosh I wish they had one these kits for the 10/22. This guy did some awesome mods on it.

p.s. might take a while for it to load up.

Search for the "krinker-plinker". It's really cool. I told my GF about it and she picked up the kit for me. I loved it so much I had to go buy another 10/22 so I could have both setups without taking the kit on and off. I just put together my 10/22 with bull barrel and hogue stock. It feels really solid and I did very well at 50 yards. I don't know about .5", but it definitely shows improvement over the stock barrel.

I picked up my 2nd 10/22 at big five sporting goods when they were on sale a few months ago. In the bay area you can get them for around $175 on sale, proally less in LA or elsewhere in CA.

Ah yes...

I've been on their waiting list for months now... They keep refining and improving the product, though. I think I'll probably be in the next batch or two.

For those who wonder why to put this kind of stock on a 10/22? Why not?! http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Not too many ways left to have fun in this damn state!

Yeah I've seen the krinker plinker kits, but man I don't like that sound suppresor look a like. I prefer the ak barrel. Hmm gotta think how I would make that front part look like an ak...
