May I ask how much? I saw a Les Baer Premium II for $1850 in Orangevale ( Wildsports).

07-16-2009, 8:37 PM
Sure got it through Davidsons www.GalleryofGuns.com for $1747.00, with tax and fees $1950 out the door. Prem II's are less expesive then TRS. You should check out the website or gunbroker for better prices

Thank you, I will check on Davidsons.

Very nice! I'm hoping to DROS a used TRS tomorrow.

07-16-2009, 8:56 PM
Congrats! Can't wait for the range report.

07-16-2009, 9:24 PM
Wow, that's a beauty for sure. Congrats!

Remember, LB's are SUPER tight when new. Don't sweat it if it even seems too tight--just keep shooting it to break it in.

Oh, and welcome to the club. :)

Congrats. Very nice looking gun. Enjoy it in good health. There sure has been a lot of thread traffic on LB's lately.

Just try to DROS 2 handguns within 30 days. Now I have a 17 day wait instead of 10!

Beautiful gun, and congratulations.

Welcome to the brotherhood. :)

07-17-2009, 1:34 PM
Grats! I'm jealous :nopity:

07-17-2009, 2:40 PM
Man, that is sweet! Shoot it about 1000 times and then you'll start to really appreciate the work and fitting that LB puts on all his pistols!

It feels and heft like ONE solid piece of steel but works like a swiss watch, each part synchronized to do a function without the operator noticing/feeling that the function was done! It just gets done, as if by magic!

Welcome to the fold!

My friend shot mine yesterday and said "I don't even need to aim to shoot this thing". Enjoy breaking it in and remember, it only gets smoother every time you take it out.

07-17-2009, 2:51 PM
Nice! I have an SW1911 and some day will go the custom route.

07-17-2009, 6:42 PM
The TRS is a great gun. Mine has about 2000 rounds through it, has been trouble free from day one no matter what I cram in the mag and it's till tight as a drum. You're gonna love it!

07-17-2009, 6:52 PM
You are in for some real pleasurable shooting. My TRS is my go to pistol, I really enjoy shooting this pistol. Nice buy, enjoy it.

07-17-2009, 7:07 PM
Nice! That is the very 1911 I have been eyeing on. Hopefully before the year ends.

07-17-2009, 8:44 PM
Nice acquisition, I have one and I love it. Cheers.

Well I am in my purgatory period 15 days and counting. I held my TRS today at the FFL (bought a handgun less then 30 days ago so I cant begin my wait until next Friday) Anyways I had a Springfield TRP Operator at one point and I thought that was a nice weapon. There is just no comparison to a custom gun! Everything is so smooth and solid. Its another level of gun bliss and should one have the opportunity I highly recommend one, and that without ever firing a shot :)

Nice snag autodex. I kinda wish I grabbed a TRS over a PII now. To tide you over during the ten day wait an Ayoob fluff piece on Baer in American Handgunner. It's viewable online but you might need to add software.

I can't wait for the next thread war over cleaning practices to pull out "les suggests the gun be cleaned every 500 rounds when fired with copper jacketed ammo"

Sweet looking 1911.

Just try to DROS 2 handguns within 30 days. Now I have a 17 day wait instead of 10!

This only applies to guns purchased from a store inventory, or a PPT that was shipped in to your FFL (since it becomes part of the stores inventory which is immediately transferred to you, technically). You can do as many in-store PPT transactions as you want (where both parties are in the store), no 30 day rule or anything. You could do five in a day if you wanted.

07-19-2009, 11:35 PM
Congrats, you got yourself a fine 1911.

07-20-2009, 3:00 PM
Thanks all for the kind words. 14 more days and counting. I am having trouble sleeping thinking about it, now that cant be normal. :)

07-23-2009, 5:12 PM
10 Days and counting, finally out of the 30 day handgun wait period. Jeez this was harder then I thought

07-23-2009, 6:44 PM
Go fondle it already, you know you want to.

07-23-2009, 10:15 PM
It is a beaute... There is a guy that goes into SanJuanCap indoor range with his Les Baer, he just puts one hole in the target and keeps filling it. He is very accurate with the gun. Makes me want one also.

07-27-2009, 6:51 PM
7 More days and its out of purgatory

07-27-2009, 6:55 PM
How much did you get it for?

07-27-2009, 7:37 PM
Got it for 1950 with tax and dros fee

07-27-2009, 11:13 PM
I have that exact Baer!

It's the first gun I really enjoyed shooting. I remember counting the days when it was sitting at the local FFL. You're gonna love it man.

07-28-2009, 12:07 PM
Picked up TRS in March and shot 350 rounds through it without cleaning on the first outting. No bobble, no hiccup, no nothing. Just shot well and accurately. But tight, that is only a hint of what the word means. Almost stripped a bushing wrench trying to get the bushing off....it's that tight!

Take care and have fun with an exceptional toy. :)

You won't regret buying this model. I had mine for about 8yrs now and I thought I payed to much back then, anyway congrats on your purchased and enjoy. Happy and safe shooting!
