What does Les do to make it a CA approved pistol. Are they diffrent than the pistols he sells in other states.
He submits what he thinks are the his most popular models for testing. There is no difference in the Calif. models than any other. They all use a .38 super FP and unlike Ed Brown, Les doesn't stick a Ti pin in there.
I know for sure that the Thunder Ranch Special and Premier II are California "Approved" as I have seen tham for sale here and have purchased a Premier II which I really like.

Les Baer submitted 10 of his many variations of 1911s for CA approval. Like previously stated, the ones most likely to sell were probably chosen. He would have to renew every year, so I guess he limited the number at 10 models to justify the expense.
There's nothing different about CA approved models compared to the other 1911s he sells to free states.
