Typically a repeating rifle wont be as accuate as a bolt action rifle but the quality of scopes depends on the price you want to spend.

$2-$300 range can get you a elite series bushnell or a super sniper from sfwa.com

3-$900 will get ya into a Leupold, Ziess which are very nice.

1200-2500 will get you a nightforce or a us optics.

give me a price range and I will be able to help more.

http://www.samplelist.com/ has a pretty good selection on used stuff, for 3-6 hundred

I would look at a light application as your rifle is a carbine and ment to be on the money for medium distances (like a car-15, mini-14, etc)

for $300 bucks you could get a nice fixed 10 power bushnell elite 3200 or step into the red dot type optics which should have some magnification like the EO Tech or Aimpoint.

AR15.com has a pretty nice for sale page and deals can be found on scopes, rings, etc. Im not sure I would mount a big 56 objective to such a small rifle and instead look at the smaller objectives like 40mm for a scope if that is the way you want to go.

Sniperhide.com is another website that can help with explaning the diference in prices and what works and what doesnt.

Cool Guy, there are some questions buying your scope.

why do you want a scope?

How will you mount it?

How often do you shoot?

Do you have any preferences/prejudices?

There are many, many scopes to choose from in your price range, that's the good news.

FWIW, if I was putting a scope on a SU-16, it would be a JPoint/Optima 2000/Docter Optik red dot, they are almost weightless and will mount very low.

they can be had used with the weaver mount base for about $100 if you look around and wait a little.
