I googled Harris and found these "cloned" bipods.

Am I better off spending $40 more and getting a Harris?

thanks

I purchased a different clone on ebay for like $39 and it works just fine.

As you might have guessed, these Shooter Ridge bipods are made in China. I've had one on an old A2 AR for about 3 years now and it works just fine. The metal on the knock off is much thinner than that of a Harris, so I can see it falling apart quite quickly under hard use. But if it's just for range use, save yourself $40 and get it.

That is like the one they sell at Walmart. Except it's 10 bucks less at Walmart. They are just the same as the Harris.

I just found the High end Harris 9-13" swivelmount at Riflegear for only $87. That's a really good price from what I've seen. Not what you asked, I know, but for the $$ I'd upgrade to the harris.

I'm selling the same thing for $90 shipped, buy mine!

I had one a few years ago. Its nowhere near as sturdy nor is the build quality anywhere as good as a real harris, but it works.

They are junk.
They are not the same as Harris, the metal is much softer.
The screw mechanism has much more slop in it.
The swivel tensioning system is not as effective, (harder to get tight)
I have one and am on the second repair attempt.
The swivel mechanism broke away from the mounting base. It looks like they welded it with bubble gum.
It was mounted on a rem 700 .308. Broke on the 4th trip to the range, the legs just fell off. You get what you pay for, get the Harris.
My 2 cents.

If it wobbles the OP may as well buy a grip pod.

I bought one for my budget .30-06, and am fine so far. I only expect to do paper at range, so it depends on budget and use.

I have one on my "lil-savage." $45 for 22lr looked good for me.

Harris on my "big-savage." 308 isn't big to a lot of you, but it is big to me.

You may want to take a look at the Caldwell bipods.

They were on sale at Midwayusa one time for $32 plus shipping. Looks like it is about $40 now but backordered. Sems to have some pretty good reviews on Midway, I was thinking of getting one for my 1022. I see them on eBay for about $43 shipped.

They are NOT the same thing as the Harris!

They are cheap Chinese knock-offs that are cheaper but also weaker than the REAL THING.

They are also illegal Chinese clones stealing from a great U.S. company.

I've seen 2 of the knock offs break in competition use.

Buy the real deal and only cry once.

Yea even though I'm trying to get good stuff for my .22 target rig, I think I'm going to go with the walmart knock off. The nice lady at my LGS is really pushing her 6-9" harris on me but I think I'll wait for a big rifle to get that.

I wouldnt put it on anything other than a cheap rimfire. They "work" but are quite flimsy. Just get a harris and get it over with :p
