What is the best mil. surplus 7.62x25 ammo available now? I tried Romanian in my TT-33, and it has hard/bad primers. Needed to strike primer twice about 40% of the time. Some times ignition was delayed: you hear click, and then it fires. About 10% didn't fire at all. Polish was cleaner and fired 100%, but about 20% had split necks out of the box, and additional 30% got split necks after firing. Commercial S&B performed great but is too expensive.

interesting... i'm probably 99.5% successful with the bulk spam can Romanian in my CZ-52. what do other TT-33 shooters report for that ammo? maybe ask them to compare firing pin protrusion. i would suggest "check for a broken pin or dirt in the firing pin channel", but you are successful with the Polish ammo.
just remember: don't shoot the Bulgarian stuff. much or all of those are hot loads for PPsh-type submachine guns, and are far too punishing on pistol frames.
pity, though: the Romanian stuff is really a steal right now - even Sleazer Than Dirt has a decent price for the 1224-round can. i do love our snappy, ugly mutant ComBloc guns with their space-age round. what's that, .357 Sig? glad you could join us, we've been busy using a pistol to rip the very fabric of space and time since 1933.

Maybe your lot of Romanian was bad, I ran few hundred thru mine and did not have 1 misfire.

I've shot about 100 rounds of Romanian through my Romanian TT33 and it all fired the first try.
