View Full Version : Rossi Lever Gun

A friend of my brother's wants to sell me his levergun and I'm looking to give him a fair price. I have not seen it yet, but my brother has it at the moment and went over it on the phone with me. It's a Rossi 92 SRC in .357 Magnum.
Some of the markings:
Amedeo Rossi SA
Model 92 SRC
Interarms Alexandria VA
Made in Brazil
Appears to have a 20" barrel.
My brother says it appears to have been fired very little, if at all. He would estimate it to be 98% with blueing that appears new and the only flaws a couple of small scratches on the the stock. He also reports the action feels very crisp.
Any comments about the gun or ideas on a fair price?

I have an identical rifle that I bought in 1982. I had the barrel and magazine trimmed to 16". It is reliable and reasonably accurate. It is based on the Winchester 92 and it is right-sized for the .357 cartridge. The Marlin and Winchester are too big and clunky for the small .357 round. I can't comment on current value but I am very happy with the one that I have.

I had one in 45LC. Got it for about $200. Sold it for $250 about 6 years ago. Can't say anything bad about it. Got about 4" MOA at 100y with iron sights off bench.

I want one of those. I'll give you 200 right now.

These are some prices from an online vendor:
So one way to approach it is figure on a replacement cost and then discount because it's used...

between $350 and $450 is what they seem to be going for on the used market.

I sold one for 200 bux about 10 years ago. I should have kept it :(
Boy was my wife pissed!!!
I'd imagine 400'ish is good for the current market.
I sold my Browning 92 in 44 mag for 800 but should have kept that as well. :(

Is Rossi the same as Puma? I know it's the same maufacturer, but is there a difference in quality?

So I averaged the stated values from here and another forum and came up with ~$365. That's probably a fair price.
Anyone have an idea on year of manufacture, based on serial #K019XXX? Tried Rossi's look up tool, but it didn't produce anything.
