From the pictures, they look like they have been fired or, at least, struck with a firing pin. Please explain the details and what you are trying to fix a little better.

Using a 650, a couple of times press did not feel right on the aft (priming)stroke, had a little more resistance. These are the cases I pulled out of station 2 when this occurred. I was going to follow the troubleshooting for crushed primers but they don't really look crushed to me. So took some pics...

they look like hot loads if those are loaded primers they look like they have been fired and then refilled

I think that they are cases where the spent primer was not properly removed and then, it was reseated. Do you have a few good primers in that little spot where the unused primers fall out on?

my guess is its a hot load? the primer is pushed rearward flattening it

Those are old primers that did not get pushed out by the sizing/decapping die. Assuming that you adjusted the die body according to the manufacturer's directions, adjust the decapping pin in the sizing die down at least a full turn.

Beretta fired brass. No problem.

I have had that happen when I get one case inside another on decap/size station, i.e. .40 SW inside a .45 ACP. May not be what happened here, but it looks exactly like that.

Thanks for the help. I'll do as suggested.

Yup, these were never decapped - still have the old primer in them - a little pushed out by the decapping pin, but still in there. This would prevent the handle from going fwd when trying to seat a new primer - no place for it to go.

Here's another scenario:

It looks like you are using small pistol Primer Seating Cup.
Instead of using a large primer Seating cup.
By the looks of the primer caps indentaion, the primer seating cup is meant for small pistol primers. Try changing to Large primer seating cup.

If the picture is a newly seated primer than that's the problem!

This is what happens to a 650 when it doesn't fully decap.

Primer assembly in the trash, low primer system in the trash, 98 primers blown up and in the trash. Some light hope filling and paint, we'll be as good as new.

ETA: We're seeing timing off between the priming carousel and shell holder, something to investigate tomorrow. 2 cases have gone through without primers being seated.

Dang! Did you try and force it?

I had a problem at one time with primers not seating properly, timing off and the cause was the primer seating punch sticking. I cleaned it and problem solved, however, it returned soon so I contacted Dillion and they sent me a new one.

Not sure if this is the problem referenced above but sticking primer seating punch can cause primers to be seated improperly or not at all.

The picture is of newly seated, almost decapped, spent primers. The ring you are refering to is caused by the brass being worked by the firing pin, decapping pin and then the primer being reseated. There is no way, that I can figure out, to have large primers feed through a 650's small primer feeding system.

Follow the Dillon instructions very, very, very carefully and precicely through the whole setup, and you should have no problems. Sounds like you need to determine first if the primer in the pictue is the old spent primer, or the new one you are trying to put in...

I did follow the instructions and ended up with these 5 out of 300. Everyone was correct those were spent primers that didn't get decapped.

Are those the win clean 45acp cases with the small primers?
