True enough...it still makes me sad every time i hear about it. Good thing they'll make more!

Doesn't affect me much:
"56 year-old Fati Masu-Ghana (R) and her two nephews clad in "Obama T-shirts" walk the street of their Ring Road neighbourhood in the Ghanian capital Accra ahead of the US President Barack Obama's two-day state visit to the West African country."
^^^From the link.
I assume they moved the pic you were referring to? I don't see what rebar could have to do with this.... kinda weird still.

I like how 'our impartial media' refers to all the weapons collected in their 'buy back program' as "Illegal Assault Weapons" that are now off the streets making the world a safer place.
Wow, the Bovine fecal matter is really thick in there.
Sad thing is some people believe what they are being told without question.

Why wouldn't they resell the guns to responsible gun owners and put the profits to good use like gang prevention groups or community projects?

b/c all gun buy back programs are for PR, not profits. they know they can get more money by selling, but imagine the PR nightmare when a local media finds out and then put this as headline
"Buy back guns, back out on the streets!" with underline "Cops put buy back guns back into the hands of potential criminals to make money."
