View Full Version : Need a place to buy little sand bags.

I'm looking for a place that I can buy little sand bags to take to the shooting range with me. . . I shoot handguns. I'm just starting out and after tinkering with my guns, need to try and see how they're really grouping. I know they can be made cheaply. . . just need to find a source.

MidwayUSA is having a blow-out on their
Winchester bags, $1.85 and $3.09.
However, they recommend using corn media.

Here's a source for items to make sand bags.
-Old socks
-sand from niegborhood park
-fill, tie in knot

Clay cat litter (fresh, not used ;-) ) makes
a good sandbag filler too.

The range I go to uses sand filled shot bags. The ones used to package lead shot for shotshell reloaders. You see them on Ebay often or you can get them off a local shotshell reloader. I would think the legs of an old pair of denim jeans would work good too...

kinda gross... but sand from your local park = used cat litter. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ok... haha!

corn media may and or will attract mice and or rats.

I've seen examples of both happen first hand.
