I'm currently stuck between these two.

I have a AR with a aimpoint already so I don't know if I really need that 1x variable power that the burris has. But I rarely go over 300-500yards with the AR

Which would you do for this rifle:

(yes that is a NC star :p)

SOCK!

What do you want to do with the rifle? Are you going to be shooting on the move or at the range?

If you're at the range, go with a 3-9X. Consider the new Mark AR Leupold, as well.

For on the move, 1-4X is hard to beat.

haha....yup, that's my foot.

I'm going to do 80% of the shooting at the range. My friends has some property but I rarely go there to shoot.

They both are going to come out to around the same price give or take $50.

I dont need a high end scope for this rifle since I'm not going to be doing competitions. But I do want a reliable scope/glass to put on this rifle to help me get good groups. I just figure with either one of these scopes, I will still have some money for ammo to practice :D

The Mark AR is cheaper - Mil-Dot 3-9X with target knob and essentially Leupy VX-II/III glass for about $300+/-

SOCK!

That's the first thing I noticed.
At least it's a tactical sock.

Second thing I noticed was a scope bridging the handgard.

not really. It's a really crappy range. (oroville)

yeah, it was bridging the handgard. I just put it on just to get a look at it. I didn't shoot it.

But I decided on the accupoint tr20 with a green triangle. I hope that'll work well with this rifle on a larue or ADM qd mount.

Either should work well for different things. At 1x he Burris XTR 1-4x24 can be used like a red dot in a CQB situation yet has 4x magnification for reaching out there. But the circle-dot reticle isn't precise enough for fine target shooting. The Accupoint will let you see farther but it's not much use up close and (depending on the reticle the Muli-x should be ok) not really for paper punching. Both have much better glass than a VXII/MKAR. For hunting and self defense I'd go with whichever fits your scenarios. For a pure paper puncher I'd find something else.

Here is 1-4XTR mounted in a LaRue LT104 on my MK68 Recon.
