Tried out my .45 test reloads today, 230 fmj with 7.8 grains of AA#5, 1.265 OAL, crimp .472. Unlike the first time I made some reloads at a friend's house. I did not have a flinch from thinking about squibs and double charges. Functioned perfectly and accuracy was just as good if not better than the factory ammo I brought.. Time to go load up a big batch.

I was a bit nervous firing my first reloads too. For .45ACP they are more accurate than factory ammo. For my AR they shoot just as good as good quality factory ammo, it shoots everything about the same except for PPU match which for some reason shoots terrible.

.45 ACP is my all time favorite caliber to load. Very easy, very forgiving, very accurate!

Good job on not losing any of your digits! ;-)

If you can borrow a chronograph from someone.
You can compare your loads to factory loads.
The chrono will show you velocities and FPS.

Congrats!!!
