I'm in the Bay Area CA, any ideas where I can find some ammo (.45 ACP and/or .30 Carbine) preferably the cheap stuff?

Also, why doesn't Wal-Mart sell ammo in Alameda county CA, did they loose their license or something?

Have you tried Tabors in San Bruno or City Arms in Pacifica? If you're in the East Bay I'd call them first. City Arms usually gets new shipments of ammo on Tuesdays.

Wal-Mart sells ammo wherever they can without a big hassle. If Alameda County makes them jump through hoops (paperwork, fingerprints, recording IDs) to sell it, then they won't. Sports Authority is similar, from what I understand, they sell ammo in all their stores except the ones in CA due to the hassle of CA law.

I did see some bagged .45 ACP at Irvington Arms this past week. I think they had some 9MM as well but I don't know about the .30 carbine.

I bought 250 rounds of PMC. I got a Springfield Mil-Spec coming in a few days and I need some ammo. Because of work I don't have time to sit at Wal-Mart to look for Value Packs. I guess all the retirees are buying up the ammo. Sometimes you have to pay to play.

Ouch at 51 cents a round...is that before taxes? Yeah as the above poster mentioned, sometimes you have to pay to play.

Tabors usually limits to two boxes, depending on what he has in stock in the popular stuff. If the dog likes you, maybe you can grab a 3rd. :)

500 rounds $155 + shipping. Several months wait, though.
I sent off a money order in late Feb.

Edit: Cool! I just checked and it looks like it is being shipped ASAP!
