We're being told of "change", "reform" and "cooperation" and pushed to join NOW. I'd like to take look for myself how the organization is structured and operates before committing.

I've searched the CRPA website, but can't find the By-laws posted there. Maybe I missed it - can someone point me to them? Or perhaps someone would be kind enough to post them up on this forum. May lead to interesting discussions.

I can take a copy by email, also. My email addy is in my profile. Thanks.

If you're a member, you should email the organization and request a copy of the bylaws. They will respond with a copy.

How about availability for potential members? I, for one, would like to see how the organization is structured and operated before I send my membership money.

You should ask. I know for certain that members can request and receive but I'm not immediately sure about non members.

OK, I've sent a request.

Out of curiosity, we're you asked, when you joined, if you had read and understood the CRPA By-laws? I do/have belonged to several local, regional and national organizations, and almost without exception, was required to state I had read & understood the By-laws of that organization. Is that not the case here?

Never had that happen when I joined anything.

We must not run in the same circles :)

I like to know the "rules" before I decide to join an organization. To me, it helps to know how to participate and contribute if you have the organization guidelines. Particularly in the case of CRPA, how are we to judge and/or effect "growth" if we don't know the structure to begin with?

Did you get a copy of the NRA bylaws before you joined them?

I asked & was sent a copy. Be happy to loan it to you, if you're interested.

Have you a copy of the CRPA By-laws you can loan me?

I have a copy but I'd need to clarify the non member issue. The concern is that if non members can have the bylaws, then so can The Brady Campaign. Now, it may very well be that non members can request and receive the bylaws of a membership organization under California law but I admit to being to lazy to go digging through the California Corporations Code tonight.
