I just thought I'd pass along the fact that Reeds Indoor Range in Santa Clara is having an ammo sale. I stopped by today and picked up the following:

Federal American Eagle 45ACP 230Gr Ball for $199/case
Federal American Eagle 9mm 115Gr Ball for $129/case

This is the best price I've been able to find on the Federal American Eagle ammo. This is even cheaper than Natchez. Natchez has the 45ACP for $179 a case but the time you add in shipping, it's more expensive than the $199 + tax at Reeds. Unfortunately they didn't have any .308 available :-(

I'm not sure how long the sale will last.

How much does admission, parking and driving there and back, to the cow palace, add to that cost?

well if you cross the bridge that $3. Parking is $7 and admission is $10 ($9 with a coupon).

Well it sounds like if you're just going to the gun show for the ammo, then it's cheaper to go to Reeds. But then again Reeds doesn't have the wide selection of beef jerkey and the wonderful local that the Cow Palace has. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

So very true!!! http://www.calguns.net/laughroll.gif My friends are headed up there today. I'm not sure if I want to tag along. I was there yesterday and didn't see anything interesting. But the beef jerky looked good. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I had to refuse the free sample cause I know I'd buy. I remember seeing beef jerky before, but not the chocolate brick vendor.

I've seen the candy vendor before. Not quite a regular, but he's there frequently.

There were quite a few airsoft vendors there. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yea..before long it they'll call it a airsoft gun show..that is till they ban airsoft guns. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

How about the vintage toy vendors - I've seen people selling old collectible toys at gun shows. Not quite what I'd expect, but I guess if one collects vintage guns, it is conceivable that one may also be interested in vintage toys. Not quite me, however..

Someone was selling women's clothing. Looked like dresses and gowns. Another person was selling jewelry - rings and necklaces!

Oh boy! They should change the name to the "Cow Palace Guns and Gals show"...

I have not been to the Cow Palace Gun show in a while. I was there one time and there was a gentleman selling some pretty nice replica watches. One that caught my eye was a Franck Muller Conquistador for $80 and it had the REAL back from a REAL one along with the movement, etc. Not too shabby since a real Conquistador will cost $15,000. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Yeah I agree that the shows aren't what they used to be, but the way I look at it, it's a reason to get away from the house and put off, at least for a little while, the stuff I need to do to around the home, plus I might also get lucky and find something I want.

You're right... The next Cow Palace Gun show won't be until September.

I can't wait to go the the Vallejo Gun show on June 4th and 5th... They sell rubber band guns there.
