I just want to see how many folks we have here that bought handguns that were bought for the purpose of shooting, BUT haven't really shot them leaving them in some dark corner in the safe corner just waiting for weeks/months/years??? I'm thinking this is one of those make me feel better thread depending on the replies. :D

Let's see, pretty much most the guns I bought this year did not see much of range time due to the ammo shortage. That makes my:

Beretta Bobcat
Heritage Rough Rider
HK USP
Steyr M40A1
Ruger NM Blackhawk convertible
Ruger Security 6

sad little safe queen.

0!!!!

Whenever I get a new gun, I shoot the hec out of it. Now I don't shoot a lot of my older guns that often, but when I get a new one, it gets 100s or 1000s of rounds through it in the first month or two depending on caliber

I have a few also.

Interarms Walther PPK (ammo too expensive)
Gen 1 Walther P99 (too many other 9mm)
HK USPf 9mm (too many other 9mm to shoot)
HK P2000 v3 9mm (too many other 9mm to shoot)
SIG P226 (too many other 9mm to shoot)
Colt Combat Commander 9mm (shoot my fullsize 1911 9mm instead)
HK USPf .45 (shoot my 1911s instead)
Model 65 3" (shoot model 19s instead)
Nickel Model 19 (impulse buy to compliment the blued M19 I bought the week before)
Glock 17 (shoot the Glock 34 instead)
Colt Government (shoot the Baers)
Kimber pre-series II Classic Royal (shoot the Baers)
Ruger Bisley Vaquero .44mag (too expensive to shoot)

The rest usually see some sort of rotating to the range. These just sit around, but I like em' too much to sell.

To quote Sen. Phil Gramm (with my sorry attempt to portray his deep Texas accent):

"Ah got more guns than ah need, but not as many as I won't"

I've always found it a lot easier to buy a gun than sell one. Kind of an unintended consequence of all these goofy laws and the threat of more bad laws. Hence, many go unused.

Haven't yet shot the Smith 21, Smith 610, Smith (original) 1917, Colt 1903, Ruger SP101 in 357, Colt Cobra, Ruger Redhawk, DW PM7, Mauser 1914, Interarms PPK/s, Detonics MkI & Detonics MkVI, High Standard Derringer, Smith 640, Smith 37 (2") & Smith 37 (3"), Smith 29, Smith 28, Smith 66, a 1972 BHP 9mm and a BHP Mk III in 40 S & W, Colt SAA, Colt Officers Model Match, Smith 17, SMith 49 - I think that covers most of them.

Reason - I guess going to Chabot, shooting rifle is more fun than an indoor range. And once I get set up on a certain station, I don't want to switch over to the pistol range. I do routinely use the T/C & XP at the rifle range though.

Besides, sitting in your skivvies watching TV whilst playing with the latest handgun aquistion is still a suitable substitute for actually shooting the thing, right? And no, I'm not the fat bald hairy guy whose picture has been making the internet rounds. :pinch:

I thought everyone does that. Is that what "dryfire practice" is... at the tv? :D

I have a pair of unfired consecutive serial number Colt Defenders ... early models before the Novak sights. For some odd reason I actually bought them with the intention of never firing them.

Then when I finally got a CCW it was nearly impossible to resist...so I bought an unrelated 3rd one.
