The blue model is not on the list. Care to share how much you paid for it and where you bought it?

Guns are generally added onto the list according to the manufacturer's model number and description. Most guns offered in multiple colors/finishes often have different model numbers to easily distinguish one from the other when it comes to inventory and shipping. If a company only submits one color/finish model for testing, and it passes, then that model number and description is the one added to the "safe" handgun roster and is therefore the only one that can be sold in CA. The Manufacturer must submit the Blued model and pay the additional bribe in order to get it on the "safe" handgun roster.

This is why you only see black SA XDs for sale in CA, even though its offered everywhere else in Black, Green, And Desert.

A revolver in blued is not the same as one in stainless according to Ca safe gun testing. Barrel lengths are the same way, each length is a different firearm and would require samples to be submitted and fees to be paid if the manufacturer wants it to be on the list.
