You may want to change your subject line from .500 S&W fans untie..., to ...unite!

If I were to acquire a third one, chances are I'd snap up one of the John Ross versions. See: http://www.john-ross.net/store.php

Both versions, which differ only in the finish, are certified for California sale. :62:

From his site:
The next time I was at the range, I asked others to stand to my right side while I shot my 57 ounce 5 gun with various loads, and tell me how far the gun rose. Factory ammo caused the barrel to rise to an angle of 30 to 40 degrees. The heaviest-recoiling loads Ive ever shot are my 510s at 1740 FPS and 725s at 1200. When I shot some of these, they made the angle steeper, maybe 70 or 80 degrees, but not quite vertical. The observers told me the gun never got closer than a foot and a half or so from my head.
Dayum! Thats some serious firepower from a revo:eek:

That's the one I have but with the rubber grip. You are a brave man for shooting with wood grips. I am fraind it would hurt. (I love the look though!!!)

The unfluted cylinders look really nice. Gives the pistol a more symmetrical look if that makes sense.

I've got one with the 8 3/8" tube. Great trigger right out of the box, extremely accurate with every load I've tried.

Yay 500! I'd like to try mine (8 3/8) with no comp to test out what Ross says about the concussive blast and felt recoil.

There are two sitting at Buckhorns in Glendora.

He has been trying to sell them off for awhile now and I made him an offer on them today that was a bit to low.

He is asking $899 each. Still a good deal.

My favorite practice load is one of my own using the Hornady XTP 350 grain projectile. Hornady sells this combo as well.

Last I checked, TM will not let you shoot it, but Reeds does, after they warn you that they don't let newbs to the 500 shoot, and if you damage a hanger, you're paying for it on the spot.
