How durable is the lockwork to wear from repeated firing. 38 spl loads in a 357 magnum gun. If I were to shot it regularly 100-150 rds a mo. how would it hold up in general. It seems well made, v. nice DA pull, SA as well

If New Service is the model, I have a few that are going on anywhere from 70 to + 90 years old with no ill effects. I don't shoot mine all that much, but I'd expect a good condition New Service would be used by the grandchildren. About the only part I can think of wearing out a bit might be the hand.

Thanks,Yes it is a New service model. cal 357. I think it was made around 1939 or 40. I like shooting it, but after reading those posts by D.R.E.about the pythons, and seeing them dissembled, I got to wondering how well these colts would hold up with extended use.
