I'm just curious if anyone here has taken the full coarse, or even some of the week long courses. I'm gonna be taking the full 2 year course starting next semester, and I just want to hear from someone besides the people who teach it what it's like.

And does anyone find it ironic that the only gunsmithing program west of the rockies is in california... at a comminuty college no less.

I find it more ironic that you are going to make gunsmithing your vocation and you've never heard of Yavapai College in Arizona. Ever wonder why so many of the nation's gunsmiths reside in Arizona?

I'll have to bring that up next time I'm talkign to one of the teachers at lassen, cause that quote about being the only college west of the rockies that teaches it, is one I got from more than one of the teachers. Maybe Arizona isn't considered west of the rockies by them or something?

To be honest I know very little about gunsmithing, that's why I'm taking the course.

I'm just trying to see if anyone has taken any of the classes so I can get an idea of what's it's like from a students standpoint. Snippy remarks like yours don't help.

I've heard good things about lassen. I think you can't go wrong checking them out. I've always wanted to attend colt armourer's school..become certified. But don't have the money for something like that right now. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Hmmm..restriced to military and LEO students only. That killed the whole ballgame.

If this is true, what makes these groups so special?

Sowwy, didn't mean it that way. Thought it was a bit cutesy at the time but re-reading it, I can see what you saw.
