Neat! Finger off the trigger maybe in your rifle poses? http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Per the other comments, interesting drapes. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Nice! http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Is the laser easily adjustable for zeroing in? It seems it would be difficult to zero it the way you have it unless I am missing something.

Are those front sights plastic or metal?
Although I am not in love with the D handguard, I might get it, if the sights are metal. I do envy you the brake, it'll be more difficult, though not impossible, to put one on my 16A.

I never had problems taking off the handguard/bi-pod from my 16A. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Na, the laser is a POS. The only adjustment is to turn the lens which move the laser in circle. I got very lucky with it, when I put the fore end on the gun it was already on target. My boddy bought it for like $20 at a piant ball store and didn't like it so he gave it to me. Free is free right.

The front sights are metal. They take the AR/M16 front post which is nice. The one problem I just found with the fore end is that if you brake the gun in half the latch on the butt can not get all the way around the barrel. It only goes about half way on. The rails on the fore end hit the bottom of the stock a little. You could shave off the first and last notch on the rail to make it close but Its not that big of a deal.

Nice rig. How's the LOP on that stock? Is it too long, too short, or just right?

I think it feels great. Very easy to bring up and aim. Not to long or short but just right. I think the best part of the guns is how light it is. I can swing the rifle around like nothing at all. I have a FAB-10 with a DPMS 16 bull barrel upper and scope. It comes in at around 10Lbs and I can only take about 5 steady shots from it before my arm gets tired and my aim goes all over, its really a bench gun though. With the Su-16 I can hold it there at ready for a good couple minutes before my arms get tired. It really feels like you are holding a BB gun but with more bang http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. I'm very happy with it. Next week I'll get a chance to shoot it.

The forend replacement makes a big difference.

Is that the compact from their web site?

Nice rifle. I've been thinking about purchasing one. Please report back to us after you have tested it out.

Is the Kel-tec aftermarket forearm made out of metal and is it hard to install?

As Ted had mentioned about the fit of the forearm to the barrel, I wonder if you put a Harris bipod (or laser or weapon light) on the forearm will it wobble because of poor fit?

Please let us know how well does the LeVang Comp work in dampening recoil for fast follow up shots. Does the comp have a lock nut in the back to secure it, just as the Miculek comp?

Yes it is the compact fore end on their website. It is made of plastic which is bummer but the fit is still tight and goes with Keltec's "Light Rifle" concept. I'm sure an after market company will make a fore end out of aluminum, if not I will design one and have a few hundred made. All in all its a very tight fit. I will be testing this weekend with a 24X scope with different hand loads. I bet I can get sub MOA groups out of her with the right load. One person has even shot a 1.5 inch groups using m193 miltary ammo and iron sights. I'm sure I can knock off at least .5 inches from that with hand loads and a scope. The Levang comp does not come with a locking washer. It does not have an up down left right position so a peel washer is not needed. I just bought a 10 cent locking washer and the hardware store and painted it camo ultra-falt black. It doesn't match the barrel but its so small you cant even tell.

What is the SU16CA going for at retail locations?

Su-16's are going for near list. About $600-640. At least that is how it is in Ventura, Ca.

Be careful, the Su-16s that I have shot do tend to heat up FAST. Three 30 rd. Mags will have that weapon 'smokin'. 5 30rd sticks and you are real close to cook offs. These are great rifles for light plinking and "Ranch Rifle" applications. Do not treat them like an SKS or an AK.

If you are after a blaster, consider a Mini-14.

They may take a little work, but not that much to make them reliable and fun...

Take Care

I can put a hundred rounds rapid (all the mags I have) through my SU-16 and it has yet to smoke. Can't say that about stock Mini-14's, though. You may have been shooting exceptions.

Monterey. I didn't get mine there, but on rainy days I go there to shoot my pistol; also, they were kind enough to be an FFL for couple of Imbel receivers that I am still awaiting, I couldn't get anyone in Monterey to do it.
