I've read until I am thoroughly confused. Is the M1 Carbine legal in CA or is it considered an assult weapon? Anyone know for sure?

legal but they cost around $600-700 for an average condition usgi rifle. only ten round mags now too. you could buy a mini14 or su16 and a butt load of mags and ammo for the same cost.

If the anti-gunners in the US senate and HOR had it their way there would be no mini-14's and m1 carbine's for you. No the m1 carbine is not an assault weapon as long as it has the purty wood stock and not the evil looking one like this one being sold on ebay.

it's the pistol grip, or the lack of it, that makes it legal in this prison we call kalifornia...
