Make sure you fully read the manual and enjoy it at the range.

Congrats.

Congrats! XDs are great, you'll enjoy it. Make sure you have a good cleaning kit, universals are best rather than a pistol kit, and good ear/eye protection.

Congrats....I just my first two new guns last week. Going to pick the both up on the 30th. Look for some ammo during the wait period, if not, then your wait period to shoot will be longer.

Nice choice, I think you will like it. I have been very happy with my XD-40 Service. What model did you get?

It will be a great platform to start off with. And as others have mentioned, look for ammo during your wait time, both FMJ for the range and personal protection, high quality JHP. You may have to mail order the JHP to find it or get it at reasonable prices. And also get a cleaning kit made for a 9mm barrel; they all serve specific barrel sizes. Have fun!

And if you don't like the trigger, Powder River Precision sells kits to modify them; eliminating the take-up, overtravel, or reducing trigger pull weight. It made my XD much better.

What is it about the 30th? Pick up my first Springfield 1911 that day as well. You'll love your XD! I've had mine for 7 months and it's never had a problem. Did you get the sub, Service or Tactical?

Or any other things i should have. Other than eyes and ears obviously. Thanks a bunch guys. Oh and by the way its a Service Model 9mm.
