Hey fellas. I am working on my first AR build and have run into a little problem. I installed a CMMG lpk into spikes lower receiver. Problem is... the bolt release is rubbing against the hammer when hammer is disengaged. This causes the bolt release to get stuck. ANyone else have this problem? PLease advise on best ways on fixing this.

That's normal and why you should never release the hammer (unhindered) with the upper receiver unattached to the lower (can crack/break the bolt release)

+1 on that. Hopefully someone will throw in a link to a function check.

Goodluck with the rest of your build

My hammer sits the same way. I believe it's normal.

It's fine. Just don't let the hammer fall unrestrained onto the bolt catch because it might crack or chip it.

yeah...unfortunately, i released the hammer without the upper attached once or twice during the build. Was trying to be careful but slipped a couple of times. Bolt release seems fine (no cracks). Thanks for the replies and advice for AR noob.

The best solution is to cock the hammer. :p
