I'm in the market for a 1911 and and am stuck at deciding between the two. What is the accuracy like on these pistols? I know the spec has a lot better sights than the GI, but is their any difference in the barrel that would improve/diminish accucracy . I just bought an XD so I don't really have the extra cash to pay up for the Milspec, but also don't want to be missing my targets with the cheaper pistol. Any info. greatly appeciated.

The big diffrence between the two barrels is that the GI has a parkerized steel barrel built very close to the origional specs and the Mil Spec has a stainless steel barrel that has a polished feed ramp and throated barrel. The big advantage that this gives you if reliable feeding. Other then that, the barrels are the same.
