In my new SGN pg. 59 Bachman Pawn and Gun is selling a "Disaster Ready Kit" It contains a S&W SW9VE w/2 mags (18 rd, have to sub 10s) in a Storm Case (these are excellent) with a bunch of survival gear for $439.95. Sounds like a good price but I'm not familiar with this model Smith. Alan

There was a good discussion about it a week or so ago. It actually started off as the Sigma, had QC issues but with their 2nd generation has improved a lot. A few members here loved theirs. For that kind of money, put in another $100, you can get a lighty used Glock or even a XD or S&W M&P.

If you are looking for a nice Storm case type container, ATNOptics, who's a member here sells Pelican type for $10-$20. He is in the SF Bay area & has shipped to a lot of folks here.

I liked mine but could not shoot very accurate with the long hard trigger, although some people shoot them just fine. Sold it on here for $275 a few weeks ago

They don't get great reviews, but some here that own them, like them.

I shot one, didn't care for it, so I spent an extra $120 and got the S&W M&P.

The M&P's have grown on me and I now have 3.

$439.95 is way too much for a Sigma. Around $329-$359 is more like it.

Make it $459 and you can have an M&P and, as Legasat has said, they tend to grow on you!

I have two of them and would not trade them for any other handgun. :)

I have polished the striker release and removed one of the springs on 2 of these in .40 which helped A LOT. No problems in 500 rds. Still a crappy trigger but better than it was before. Can't say I would recommend this mod to anyone because it changes factory "specs" but it worked great for me.

Sigma owner here..almost 1000 rounds down mine. Never any problems.
I dont mind the heavy trigger like others..less chance of it going off in a holster accidently..
Just depends what your looking for. It is a very economical gun.
Cant go wrong with at least one in the collection.

Triggers suck as noted but reliability good. DAO Ruger P series triggers are even worse.

Just some one chiming in...

The other responses are not discussing the kit that comes with the firearm.

Figure about $340 for handgun plus mags and additional $100 for the rest of the kit seems OK.

See some other threads for Sigma pluses and minuses. The basic survival kit is very basic, and will serve as a starting point for what to do and not do. It is a very basic grab and go kit.

Seems like a good deal.

And I own Sigmas and Glocks.
