Help with DOJ Approved Firearms & Out-of-State Purchase

Looking at purchasing a firearm that is out-of-state and the specfic model (color) is not on the CA DOJ approved list. I assume it is because of the threaded barrel. If the barrel is changed before it is transfered to me, is there any way that I can legally purchase it?

You answered your question already: the specific model is not on the Roster, so it can't be imported for sale to you - regardless of the threaded bbl.
