View Full Version : The Evil Pistol Thread. . .

Here's a couple of my evil pistols:

The one on the bottom is an AK pistol that I built from a flat as a single shot pistol, and then converted to "multi-shot." It has a 10/30 magazine and a bullet button.

The one on the top is a Cobray PM-11 pistol that I recently DROS'ed as a single shot, dimensionally compliant pistol. It's been converted back to "multi-shot." Since it has no evil features, it doesn't need a BB.

Let's see what you got!

p.s. - Kudo's to PRK Arms. . .

Nice guns, but how are those AKs classified as pistols?? Is it because its been so neutered of its AW features that people refer to them as pistols instead of CA legal AWs?

They are pistols because they were built up as pistols, with receivers that had never had a shoulder stock attached. See, once the stock goes on, that reciever is forever a rifle.

Note that those AK pistols are not AWs even though they do have "evil" features. But because they run a fixed mag of no more than 10-rounds, they are exempt from the AW regs, and can have evil feaures such as; magazine outside the grip, barrel shrouds, threaded barrels, and VFGs (vertical forward grip if you do the federal AOW paperwork.).

Unless you used that pistol to shoot yourself in the leg in front of 30 school children, it = fail.

Good thing you have a really short barrel on that thing, wouldn't want it to get in the way of that light... :)

I think this one by Ka-Bar looks better:

I agree, but the pictured CZ bayonet came first, so that's what I got. Plus it's sturdier, and has a punch block (if you decide to remove the blade). I can't imagine the Kabar standing up to much abuse. It looks plasticy. :p

Believe it or not actually got it from someone on Gun Broker. Had to look around for a while and reach out to a lot of the sellers on there but finally found one within reason. Definitely better than the prices you'll find for people selling there here.

Since the Sig 556 Pistol is sold as a handgun, does it require a bullet button? Is there anything that needs to be done to it to make it CA legal?

It does require a BB otherwise it's an AW.
Also, you'll need to have it registered as an single shot pistol on the 4473 so it's exempt from the roster regulations. So it'll need to have the BB installed and a Single shot sled installed when it's registered.

When you take it home you can swap it back to a 10 shot mag.

This is my Kel-Tec PLR-16. It's chambered for 5.56mm, and it takes AR mags. It has a Red Lion Precision (http://redlionprecision.com/) aluminum forend, as well as their custom trigger. I also installed a Thunderbolt SU-16 Bullet Button from Parallax Tactical (http://www.parallaxtactical.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2&zenid=3e827b5181541a06412438b962ea1659), and a 10/20 PMag from Sacramento Black Rifle (http://www.sacramentoblackrifle.com/) for compliance... It's as fun to shoot as it looks, and maybe a little more. The FH is a KX3, and the foregrip is pinned in the horizontal position, so as not to create an AOW...

Thanks for looking...
