For the love of god I have been pounding this dam thing all day and it hasn't buged. Any suggestions? I know a press would do it but that's not in the cards right now. I heard soaking methods but not sure what to use or even if its safe. Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks!

You almost HAVE to use a press.
Two of my personal kits had the pins come out and marr up the pin and barrel on the way out. You too mave have one of those kits where the metal got kinked up during assembly at the factory.

Short of having a press, you can use a large bench vise to push pins out of trunnions. what is required is a sturdy vise, a small block of metal with a hole larger than the pin diameter to accept the pin as it comes out of the trunnion and a piece of
round stock just a bit smaller than the pin to act as the "push pin", and this is
most easily done by using a small bolt, as the bolt head gives more surface bearing area. have a helper hold the barreled trunnion against the metal block
with the hole in line to accept the outcoming pin, You hold the push pin (bolt) with its small side against the barrel pin, and its head against the vise jaw,
and crank on the vise handle..... it may require some serious cranking on the vise handle... but this will break the pin free and then the pushing out will be quite a bit easier than the initial force required to get that pin moving. This has worked for me 100% of the time... on several builds... and does not require the buying/ storing of a press. Use oil/ kroil and if you are comfortable... the application of a bit of heat on the trunnion can help, but is by no means required.

a really tough one will not come out by hand. you'll damage yourself, the gun or both. there are several methods, press, air chisel, powder actuated nailgun. if you don't have access to those AND a large solid vice take a break and get help. in the meantime soak OVVERNIGHT with liq. wrench, pb blaster, kroil or 50/50 ATF/acetone mix (new wonder formula) just dropping on and pounding don't get it, it should soak for hours. got to the 'files and search pin, you'll find tons of info and some real horror stories. DRILL ONLY AS A LAST RESORT and only with a GOOD drill press and bit.

We got a few out with a cheap power actuated hammer with a punch inserted in it. This is not the safest meathod and we went through a few punches doing it. If you are really stuck, feel free to mail it down to me and I'll do it for you this weekend at the Thousand Oaks Build Party. PM me if you want my address.

airhammer always works for me. i may just be lucky. i'm going to make or buy a pin punch bit for mine. for now i use the pointy one with the end ground flat and square.
i picked up a pin press adapter last month but i've never used it.

The first two kits i have worked on the barrel pins came out with a hammer, and pin punch. The second two ended up in your boat. What happened with repeated beating on the pin is the end flared making it larger than the barrel/ trunnion hole. No chance of getting it through without some relief to the pin.
Ended up soaking for two days in liquid wrench. Still no luck. Dremmeled the mushroomed head of the pin flat to the trunnion side to remove the mushrooming, and drilled a 3/16 hole dead center of the pin about 3/8" into it. I was able to put a 3/16" pin punch into that hole, and drive the barrel pin out. Major PITA but got it done without damage to the barrel or trunnion. Replaced with a new barrel pin.
Hopefully yours goes easier than mine did but liquid wrench, and making sure the end you've been pounding on isn't mushroomed bigger than the size of the pin was what finally worked for me.
