And without even firing a shot. lol

You ever have any?
Sgt. Vincent Maiorana was on patrol when he noticed two "suspicious occupants" in a compact vehicle in the parking lot of the Longs Drug Store in the 300 block of East Alisal Street about 10:25 p.m.

As Maiorana, a 19-year police department veteran, approached the two men, they drove away at a high speed, Bardoni said.

A car chase soon ensued.

Bardoni said the driver, Ramirez, and passenger Zapata, 37, sped up to 70 miles per hour, also with headlights off, until the chase ended in the area of West Rossi and Victor streets.

When Ramirez turned onto Peach Street from East Market Street, police said, he fired three to five shots from a handgun at Maiorana.

Bardoni said neither Maiorana nor his vehicle was hit.

The chase continued for about two miles when Ramirez lost control of his car, police said, and it collided with a pickup truck.

Ramirez's car came to a rest with the driver's door facing Maiorana's oncoming vehicle, police said.

As Ramirez tried to get out of his car, Bardoni said, Maiorana used his car to pin Ramirez in the doorway of the suspect's car.

A handgun was found where Ramirez was pinned, he said.

The article was then edited and the paragraph mentioning that Ramirez and Zapata were treated for their injuries was deleted. Source (http://www.thecalifornian.com/article/20090612/NEWS01/906120322/Two-men-arrested-in-case-of-attempted-homicide-on-a-Salinas-police-officer)
