,,,,Blackhawk barrel takes a beating

Some of you may have seen this.......so for those that haven't you really should!

There are at least five bullets stuck in that revolver barrel. RugerForum members seem to think is a Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Magnum. The squib loads could have been low powered .38 Special rounds or very badly loaded .357 rounds. That the shooter did not notice it after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th round is crazy!
It is hard to see if there is a bulge in that barrel, a symptom of a round fired into a blocked barrel. I think if had been a semi-automatic pistol there would have been a disaster. A revolver can vent gas in the gap between the cylinder and the barrel but in a autoloader pistol for a brief period of time the gas has no where to go and the pressure build up would be considerable.

Guns and Ammo TV does this kind of testing on their torture test portion of the show. They do all kinds of crazy thing to guns. They did this same type of test to a S&W with no issue either it just kept eating the rounds. I think they got 4 stuck in it as well.

Wierd, this happened to a guy on my range. Think it was a S&W DA though.

I do not recall it showing any signs of damage

The powder dispensor disk on my Lee setup was not resetting when I was reloading some .45ACP so the other day I got a round that didn't have any powder. I heard the primer pop and I immidiately knew what the problem was. The bullet was about half way down the barrel and pushed right out with a cleaning rod. If I tried to fire it I'm sure bad things would have happened.

Here's a Colt 9mm that had 3 bullets jammed in it.
The first bullet never makes a bulge.
It's the 2nd hitting the 1st and the 3rd hitting the 2nd that made the bulges.

anybody ever check their target to see if it actually hit before firing next shot? why jeopardize yourself and others around you if you were firing on a range? :90:<--if I ever see someone doing this on range. plain stupid

It's difficult to do that with a machine gun.
That's what happened to the colt 9mm barrel pictured above.

Not only that, when I'm shooting slowly for groups or shooting quickly for speed, I'm not checking the target after every shot.

I usually am paying fairly close attention to the gun and how it acts, and would like to think I'd notice a squib, but stuff happens.
